Easter Sunday Communion

You can join us in our Easter Celebrations through our Facebook page,  You do not need to have a Facebook account, just click on this link and it will take you to our Facebook page.

(feel free to share)

If you are on Facebook, if you haven’t already, kist LIKE our Facebook Page and you will be notified when we go live.

The Holy Communion cannot be pre-recorded and will not be available afterward on Facebook.  The main aim is that we participate together. The MCI has stated:

Those who are the cyber participants can engage in a full and meaningful way spiritually, while the minister takes bread and wine. This spiritual communion is no less authentic than the physical sharing which we are accustomed to when we gather together in the same physical space.

I will be using part of the Liturgy for Easter Sunday (see link below) so you can join in the responses at home.  Fell free to comment on the LIVE broadcast, even just put you name in the comments section so we know who we are sharing with.

The MCI has also advised:
Some of those participating online may find it helpful to use (and have ready in advance) food available to them in their own home as evocative of the bread and wine being taken by the minister.
This will be a first for many of us but is yet another way we can stay in touch and worship together.

Covid 19 - Pastoral Letter

08/04/2020

The Coronavirus has come as a huge shock to us, and within a very short time, it has challenged our attitudes and behaviours radically.  In one sense, life continues as normal – and yet it’s not normal at all.

We hope and pray, that we will soon find a vaccine for this disease, and that it will be made widely available for everyone. But in the meantime, we can reflect on our shock. It’s a reminder to us that we are never in total control of our lives.  Ultimately, our trust has to be in something more solid than we can ever find here on earth. Ultimately, God alone is our security. ‘God is our refuge and our strength, a helper close at hand in times of distress’ (Ps.46:1).

In line with government advice, we have closed the church, this does not mean that we cease to be church, but that we find new ways to stay in touch and to worship.  One way to do this is through our Facebook page, where you will find links to services and reflections.  We have also set up a Cregagh Methodist WhatsApp group for support and to stay in touch, if you or someone you know would like to be part of this group just send me your mobile number.

Finally, I have been trying to stay in contact with as many people as possible by phone, if I have not been in touch it is more than likely I don’t have your current number.  If you would like me to give you a call and to stay in touch by phone just give me a call on 028 9045 1521  or send me an email.
